COMPETITION GUIDELINES
LANGUAGE
Language accepted in this competition are English and Malay. Abstract, Extended Abstract and Video Presentation (for online participants) may be in any of these languages. You may submit the abstract in English and present in Malay, and the other way around. We are not strict in terms of language used because we know some of you would have the intention to train your students in both languages.
NUMBER OF GROUP MEMBERS
Maximum number of members in each group is 10. Groups that contain more than 10 members will need to remove the extra members or form another innovation group.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Juries of this event MAY NOT be the participant at the same time.
CATEGORIES
There are two main categories of participation in INNOCOM:
1) Innovation Idea
2) Innovation Product/Project
This is to ensure that good ideas will compete with ideas only, while good innovation projects (with products) will compete fairly with products.
1) INNOVATION IDEA
For online participants, you may present via a virtual poster (and upload on YouTube) if you are at the "idea" stage, WITHOUT product.
For face-to-face participants, you may present your innovation idea via a physical poster. Please print and bring the stand of the poster yourself. We encourage to print in the form of bunting and bring the bunting stand to support the poster during the judging session. If you are printing the poster in the form of bunting, the standard bunting size is 2x5 feet or 2x6 feet and your stand should able to support the size of your poster.
2) INNOVATION PRODUCT/PROJECT
For online participants, you may present your product and all related supporting materials and upload on YouTube. You may demonstrate the product and show how the product functions clearly in the video.
For face-to-face participants, bring the innovation product/project during the judging day (23 October 2024), set up your booth for the judging session (you may do so on 22 October 2024 at 2-4pm MYT, or on 23 October 2024 before 10am MYT) and ready for the judging session on 23 October 2024 (10am to 4pm MYT).

If your video can fit all information about your product, you don’t have to fill the report form. Usually, participants competing for ideas do not need to fill the report because of the simplicity of the idea as compared to a mature innovation product/project.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINE
Who should do the presentation?
The whole presentation can be performed by several group members or a particular member from the group.
However, for groups with a student as the group leader, the student must be present/appear in the online presentation. For example, if there are three presenters in the video, the student who is the group leader must present 1/3 from the whole presentation.
Marks will be deducted for videos led by a student but fully presented by the teacher/lecturer/professional in the group.
This is done to ensure students are exposed to opportunities they should get.
The same presentation criteria also goes to physical presentation.
