How to join INNOCOM ?
  1. Participants must submit the abstract via this Google Form: https://forms.gle/YAqhjbbRnyEDHQRV9 . Deadline: 21 August 2026.
  2.  After the abstract is reviewed and accepted, participants will receive a letter of acceptance from the organizer.
  3. Participants must pay the fees according to their category and register via this link: https://forms.gle/Zkn3Nu552hmGmUwFA. Please refer to the fee details on the website and in the Google Form. The competition fee  is based on the FIRST INNOVATOR. For example, if the group is led by a lecturer/teacher, the fee follows the Academic/Professional rate. The group members may include lecturers/teachers or students. However, if the group leader is a student, then the fee follows the student rate
  4. Participants must prepare a 4-6 minutes video and upload it on YouTube. The YouTube link, proof of payment, and report (PRODUCT)/poster (IDEA) must be submitted in the registration Google Form Deadline: 27 August 2026. Submission of the extended abstract is OPTIONAL. The Google Form can be accessed here:https://forms.gle/Zkn3Nu552hmGmUwFA .
  5. Extended abstracts submitted before the deadline will be eligible for the Best Extended Abstract Award. Submissions after the deadline may still be published in our Innovation Journal (Dec 2026 edition), subject to the reviewer’s review evaluation. The deadline for this publication submission is before or on 30 October 2026.
  6. Participants who choose to join the live Q&A session on Zoom will attend it on 17 September 2026, with the exact schedule to be shared by email and Whatsapp group. This session is optional and only for participants who need it for promotion or other requirements. No marks are given for this session. ABOUT INNOCOM

INNOCOM is an innovation competition organised by the Academic International Dialogue (AID Conference), which has been hosting various national and international conferences in Malaysia since 2016.

This programme aims to bring together professionals, academics, researchers, and students (including school students) to showcase their innovations and research through poster presentations and product demonstration.

Additionally, INNOCOM encourages innovations related to teaching and learning practices in universities and schools.
GENERAL
​INFORMATION

The competition is open to all (professionals, academics, researchers, and students). Participation can be individual or in a group.

A combination of academics/lecturers, staff, and students is allowed.

*It is mandatory to have a supervising teacher for entries under the primary and secondary school student categories, where the student is listed as the team leader.

Participants are encouraged to prepare additional materials such as brochures, pictures, certificates, or any other relevant materials besides their innovation products for the competition day.
OBJECTIVES

The main aim of INNOCOM is to provide a platform for innovators at various levels (professionals, academics, researchers, and students) to share their findings and be evaluated at a higher level. INNOCOM also aims to be a platform for educators at universities and schools to share their innovative teaching and learning ideas and practices, helping to improve teaching styles and enhance productivity and efficiency in teaching.
2 MAJOR COMPETITION CATEGORIES
ALL PRESENTATIONS WILL BE 100% VIRTUAL

1. INNOVATION PRODUCT

For innovators who already have an innovation product to compete.
2. INNOVATION IDEA (POSTER PRESENTATION)
For innovators who have ideas but do not yet have a product. They may present their idea through an online poster presentation.
The innovation project or idea may be presented in a video of 4-6 minutes. The video MUST be uploaded on YouTube and participants must fill in the Google form HERE by providing the video link and proof of payment to i-SIC. The secretariat will re-upload the video to the AID/I-SIC YouTube channel. This is to assist the juries judging the entries submitted by participants.

INNOCOM SUB-CATEGORIES

1) Social Sciences
All innovations related to social sciences and humanities. 
2) Science & Technology
Innovations in Life Sciences, such as Biology and its various disciplines, to create or improve methods and techniques that incorporate sustainability from a social, economic and environmental aspects ​by presenting the idea of invention – Product, Prototype and/or Innovation- Idea, Concept, System, Process, Technique.
3) Innovation in Education and Teaching
This category includes innovations in teaching and learning, alternative assessment methods, the use of technology in teaching learning, and methods for teaching and/or student supervision.

We offer 16 SPECIAL AWARDS for both poster presentations and innovation projects:

CERTIFICATES AND MEDALS

​Special award winners (Double Gold, Grand Double Gold) and Gold winners in the academic and professional categories will receive a free medal/trophy/plaque for each participation.

Other winners (Silver, Bronze, and other special award winners) will receive a digital certificate and may order their medals after the announcement of the results.


Participants will receive two types of e-certificates:

ADDITIONAL MEDALS, PLAQUES & E-CERTIFICATES
SEPARATING NAMES ON E-CERTIFICATES
For both types of e-certs (Winning e-cert and Presenter e-cert), all group member's names will be included in one e-cert. However, for academic mileage purposes, participants may request to have their names separated into individual certificates.


*RM10 is charged for any request to separate the names of the e-certificate. The Google Form link will be provided after the results are announced.
 
MEDALS, PLAQUES AND TROPHIES

Different awards will receive different types of plaques as follows:

🏆 Grand Double Gold Award → Trophy
🥇 Double Gold → Crystal Medal
🏅 Gold, Silver, Bronze & Other Special Awards → Wooden Plaque

 
📌 Only Grand Double Gold, Double Gold, and Gold winners are eligible for FREE plaques (postage is to be paid by winners). They may also order extra plaques.
 
For other winners,
they have to order the plaques if they wish so because there are NO FREE PLAQUES for Silver, Bronze, and other Special Awards winners (Best Extended Abstract Award, Fastest Extended Abstract Submission Award, and Most-Liked Virtual Presentation on YouTube Award).

Cost of Additional Plaques:
The cost to order extra plaques (or additional plaques for eligible winners) are based on the types of plaques won:
 
  • Grand Double Gold Award - Trophy : RM100 each
  • Double Gold - Cystal Medal : RM35 each
  • Gold, Silver, Bronze and all other special awards - Wooden Plaque : RM25​

Important Notes:
​

✅ Postage costs must be borne by participants for both additional plaques and free plaques.
✅ For winners without free plaques, please fill out the Google Form (shared in the INNOCOM V WhatsApp group), make the payment for the plaque and postage, and your plaque will be sent to you.
✅ Requests for certificate replacements (due to participant registration errors) will be charged RM10 per e-cert.
✅ Plaque orders must be made before the deadline announced on the award announcement day.
✅ Late orders will incur an additional charge of RM10 per plaque.
